9/11 Tribute

On nine eleven two thousand and one
An act of terrorism had been done

The enemies of freedom struck with vengeance
Fascism and evil doctrine are their reverence

Horror and destruction in lower Manhattan
Thousands of lives were unjustly taken

Shanksville Pennsylvania and the Pentagon
Things had surely terribly gone

People in there did not deserve to die
In anguish and agony said last goodbye

They were totally innocent and unassuming
Going about daily life that Tuesday morning

They were civilians and in no disguise
Yet they were taken completely by surprise

They were not military soldiers nor in combat
Yet they were taken out by a cowardly act

Terrible loss and tremendous pain
But freedom and liberty forever reign

Beautiful souls the heart they soften
Surely gone but never forgotten
